KABUL: Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Afghanistan’s Interior Minister, stated that the government’s positive engagement with the people is an ethical and Islamic obligation.
The Khost Provincial Press Office said in a statement today that Khalifa Haqqani made the remarks during a meeting with local government leadership, district governors, and police commanders in Khost province.
The Interior Minister emphasized that as coordination within the system increases and public cooperation grows, the gap between the government and the people will narrow.
Praising the current relationship between the government and the people in Khost, he asserted that this positive atmosphere must be maintained.
Minister Haqqani noted, “Our people have endured difficult days. They have experienced harm rather than good from governments during revolutions. This system, which has emerged from the sacrifices of this nation, must be a servant to them, a reference for solving problems, just, and provide services.”
This senior official of the Ministry of Interior Affairs underscored that the fundamental responsibilities of an Islamic system include implementing the religion of Allah and bringing about positive changes in people’s lives.
It is worth mentioning that the Interior Minister also emphasized the timely resolution of public issues by the government in a meeting held yesterday in Khost province.
