KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health has announced plans to establish an Institute and Research Center for Traditional Medicine in Kabul in collaboration with India.
In a statement today, the ministry stated that Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Health, met with Prataprao Jadhav, India’s Minister of Natural, Ayurvedic, and Traditional Medicine, during his ongoing visit to India.
They discussed the establishment of the institute and research center, focusing on training specialists in this field, as well as signing a memorandum of understanding for bilateral cooperation.
Minister Jalali emphasized that standardizing traditional medicine is a critical need in the country and that the Ministry of Public Health has already initiated efforts in this regard.
He values India’s extensive experience in traditional medicine and its potential contribution to Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Minister Jadhav committed to providing necessary support in establishing the institute, implementing educational curricula, and facilitating other aspects of cooperation with Afghanistan.
He also announced the beginning of comprehensive collaborations in the future.
Previously, the Minister of Public Health had also met with his Indian counterpart in New Delhi to discuss similar matters.
