KABUL: Shaikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, the Minister of Information and Culture, discussed the transfer of Afghanistan’s historical and cultural artifacts for a joint exhibition of Islamic countries with Merdif Al-Qashouti, the Ambassador of Qatar, during a meeting in Kabul.
According to the ministry’s spokesman, Khabib Ghafran, Minister Haqqani emphasized the importance of long-term friendly relations between the two countries and proposed the expansion of cultural, scientific, and historical exchanges, as well as the organization of joint exhibitions and scholarly conferences.
During the meeting, the Qatari ambassador mentioned that the exhibition is set to open in the second month of the upcoming Gregorian calendar year, with officials from several Islamic countries expected to attend.
The ministry stated that 36 historical artifacts from Afghanistan have been selected for the joint exhibition of Islamic countries, and the administrative process for their transfer is underway, ensuring they will be sent to Qatar in due time.
