KABUL: Dr. Mohammad Taher Ahrar, health affairs commander of the Sardar Mohammad Daoud Khan 400-Bed Hospital of Afghanistan’s Ministry of National Defense, has announced that the National Institute of Cardiac Sciences will be inaugurated soon.
In a statement posted on X, Ahrar said the institute will operate within the framework of the Sardar Mohammad Daoud Khan 400-Bed Hospital and will focus on specialized treatment and education related to heart diseases.
According to him, the institute will provide diagnosis, treatment, and advanced training in internal cardiology, cardiac surgery, invasive cardiology, pacemaker services, angioplasty, and angiography. The services will be delivered by domestic and foreign specialists using modern medical equipment.
Ahrar added that the institute’s building, equipment, and staffing structure have been completed over the past two years, and all cardiac-related services will be centralized in a single three-story facility.
The source said the center has been built at a cost of around 200 million Afghanis and has reached the final stages of completion.
