KABUL: Officials of the Islamic Emirate say a Pakistani military strike on a temporary refugee camp in Kandahar has martyred at least three people and wounded seven others.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, wrote on X that the attack took place at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, on Anzargi temporary camp in the Takhta Pul area of Kandahar province.
Fitrat also alleged that Pakistani forces struck civilian homes in the Dandono Bili area of Asadabad, the capital of Kunar. He said seven civilians, including women and children, were martyred and one person was wounded in that incident.
In a separate development, four local residents, including one woman, were reportedly killed and five others injured in Naray district following overnight mortar and artillery shelling.
The claims come amid ongoing cross-border tensions, with Taliban officials maintaining that Afghan air and ground forces have targeted only Pakistani military installations. Independent verification of the reported casualties was not immediately available.
