Afghan Foreign Minister discusses regional developments with Omani counterpart

KABUL: The country’s Foreign Minister, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a telephone conversation with Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the foreign minister of Oman, to discuss bilateral relations and recent regional developments.

According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials exchanged views on relations between Afghanistan and Oman, as well as the latest developments in the region.

Both sides described the recent developments in the Middle East as concerning and condemned the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel on Iran, warning that the conflict could expand to other countries.

The two ministers also discussed the latest situation between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

During the call, Muttaqi explained the Afghan government’s position regarding Pakistan’s recent actions and the reciprocal defensive measures taken by the Islamic Emirate.

According to the statement, both sides emphasized that regional disputes should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue.
