Iran’s speaker Qalibaf denies talks with U.S., calls reports ‘fake news’
KABUL: Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, speaker of Iran’s parliament, said there have been no negotiations with the United States, dismissing related reports as “fake news.”
In a post on X, Qalibaf said Iranians have expressed widespread anger over recent actions by the U.S. and Israel, calling for a “decisive and punishing” response against what he described as aggressors.
He added that all Iranian officials remain firmly aligned with the country’s leadership and people in pursuing that objective.
Qalibaf also said such reports were published to influence financial and oil markets and to divert attention from challenges facing the U.S. and Israel.
