At least 34 dead, 21 missing after Colombia air force crash

KABUL: At least 34 people were killed, 70 wounded and 21 others remain missing after a military aircraft crashed in Colombia, according to officials.

Reuters, citing local authorities, reported that the Colombian Air Force plane went down shortly after takeoff with 125 people on board in a remote area of the Amazon region in southern Colombia.

Jhon Gabriel Molina, governor of Putumayo Department, confirmed the casualty figures to local media.

The crash is considered one of the deadliest incidents in the history of Colombia’s air force.
