KABUL: While U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Europe and NATO members for not participating in the war with Iran, newly published reports indicate that the European Union has played an important and vital role in the conflict.
The Wall Street Journal on Monday night, revealed Europe’s critical support for the U.S. war against Iran in a report.
According to the newspaper, military bases in EU member states have become key operational support hubs for the U.S. Air Force. The report states that in recent weeks U.S. warplanes, drones, and military equipment have refueled and prepared for deployment to the Iran front from bases in Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, and Greece.
Ramstein Air Base in Germany is identified as one of these important hubs, playing a prominent and central role in directing U.S. military operations against Iran.
This comes amid remarks by some national leaders who publicly opposed the U.S. strikes on Iran or at least denied providing direct support.
