BADAKHSHAN: Four people lost their lives in two avalanches in Badakhshan local authorities confirmed.
According to a statement from the provincial police command, the victims were residents of “Cheshma Dara Shakhro” village in Kuf Ab District.
Police said the incident occurred in the “Ashoba Shala” area, a mountainous zone between Kuf Ab and Raghistan District, where they were trapped under snow, while they were traveling to Raghistan for work.
Officials stated that the incident took place three days ago, and the bodies were recovered today and handed over to their families.
Badakhshan, located in northeastern Afghanistan, is known for its rugged terrain and heavy snowfall, making it particularly vulnerable to avalanches during colder seasons.
