KABUL: Afghan security forces have seized more than 15 kilograms of methamphetamine during an anti-narcotics operation in the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar.
According to a statement released on Monday by Wahidullah Mohammadi, spokesperson for the 201st Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, the security forces conducting operations in Tori Naw area, Dur Baba district, of the province discovered and seized 15.236 kilograms of drugs while being trafficked and two suspects were also arrested at the scene.
The detained individuals are expected to be handed over to judicial authorities following further investigation.
This comes as anti-drug efforts are underway by the country’s security forces nationwide.
