KABUL: A delegation led by Mawlavi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Public Health for Food and Drug, traveled to Russia to facilitate the import of pharmaceuticals for Afghan traders and to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement from the ministry on Tuesday, the visit aims to enhance strategic relations between Afghanistan and Russia, improve the supply and regulation of quality food and pharmaceutical products, and create practical solutions to ease the import process of safe, standard, and reliable medicines for Afghan traders.
The delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with Russian regulatory authorities in the pharmaceutical and health product sectors, the statement added.
Discussions will focus on aligning standards, simplifying registration procedures, improving quality control systems, and establishing effective cooperation frameworks.
The Afghan delegation will also visit leading Russian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies to assess production capacities and learn about advanced technologies in medicine production and quality assurance.
