KABUL: A commander in the Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Seyed Majid Mousavi, has warned the United States, Israel, and their allies that if the strategic Strait of Hormuz is threatened or rendered insecure, Iran will turn the region into “a hell” for them.
Mousavi said the warning was a response to what he described as recent U.S. “aggression” and added that Iran would respond appropriately to any threat against the country.
The commander stressed that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is directly linked to regional stability and warned that any disruption would have broad and serious consequences.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints, through which a significant portion of global energy supplies is transported.
