Afghan Defense Forces targeted ISIS and Armed Group positions in Pakistan

KABUL: The country’s Ministry of National Defense said that the Afghan Air Force carried out overnight airstrikes on positions of the Daesh Islamic State – Khorasan Province and other armed groups in parts of Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

According to the ministry’s deputy spokesperson, Mawlavi Sediqullah Nusrat, the strikes targeted sites in the Gulistan area of Qala Abdullah District and the Shakar Ab area near Gardi Jungle in Chagai area of the Chaghi District, where facilities allegedly used by armed groups were located.

Nusrat also said an alleged ISIS-K facility in the Qambar Khel area of Orakzai District was struck, claiming that several senior members of the group had frequented the site.

The ministry stated that the designated targets were successfully hit but has not yet released further details regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.

It added that Afghanistan would respond decisively to any threats against its security and stability and would use all available capabilities to counter such threats.
