KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Interior Affairs says a fire broke out at the Noor Aryana Paper and Carton Manufacturing Company in the second phase of the Herat Industrial Park at around 3:00 a.m. on Friday night.
Interior Ministry spokesman Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani said the incident caused no casualties but resulted in an estimated AFN 20 million (some $280,000 U.S. dollars) in property damage.
He added that firefighting units from the Herat Police Command successfully contained the blaze and prevented the fire from spreading, saving property valued at approximately AFN 650 million.
