“If France and the U.S. have right to their systems, Afghanistan has right to an Islamic system”

KABUL: Mawlavi Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, the spokesman for the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, has stated that if the international community supports the principles of diversity among nations and the right to self-determination, it should also recognize these principles for Islamic societies.
In a post on X, Khyber wrote that just as France has the right to its secular system and the United States has the right to its own legal system, Afghanistan also has the right to organize its governing system based on the religious and cultural values of the majority of its people.
He added that no country recognizes absolute freedom and argued that a Muslim-majority nation has the right to regulate its social life in accordance with its religious values.
Khyber also stated that if any official or inspector from the ministry engages in improper conduct, that behavior should be corrected.
