Germany to accept six additional Afghan diplomats following talks

KABUL: Germany has agreed to accept six additional Afghan diplomats following talks with representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, according to a German media report.
German NDR media reported that the agreement was reached after several days of discussions between the two sides at a hotel in Istanbul.
Citing Germany’s Interior Ministry, the report said technical discussions were held with Afghan representatives, although the ministry declined to disclose further details. Germany’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that the meeting took place in Istanbul.
The report added that senior officials and diplomats from Germany’s Interior and Foreign Ministries participated in the talks.
Currently, two consular officials appointed by the Islamic Emirate are present in Germany, where they are effectively managing the Afghan Embassy in Berlin and the Consulate General in Bonn.
