Kabul hosts planning meeting for 24 Asad Commemoration

KABUL: The Ministry of Information and Culture said in a statement today that a consultative meeting was held in Kabul to coordinate preparations for the commemoration of 24 Asad (Victory Day).

According to the statement, the meeting brought together representatives of various government institutions to discuss plans for organizing the anniversary event.

During the meeting, Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister for Culture and Arts, highlighted the significance of commemorating 24 Asad and stressed that the occasion should be marked with well-organized programs and broad public participation.

Also, during the meeting, Mawlavi Muhajir Farahi and other committee members shared recommendations and proposals on how to improve the organization of the event. Participants emphasized that Afghanistan’s freedom is a shared national achievement and said the purpose of the commemoration is to preserve the memory of the sacrifices and heroism of the Afghan people for future generations.

The meeting also underscored the importance of raising awareness among younger generations about the events of the past two decades, including the hardships, sacrifices, and resilience of the Afghan people during the conflict, said the statement.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee decided that the relevant government institutions would prepare their work plans and initiatives for the commemoration and present them at the next coordination meeting.
