KABUL: Jan Egeland, Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), has condemned the recent military strikes attributed to Pakistan on Afghan territory, emphasizing that civilians and civilian infrastructure must never be targeted.
In a statement posted on his X account, Egeland called on both Afghan forces and Pakistan’s military authorities to adhere to international humanitarian law and to resolve their differences through dialogue rather than violence.
He stressed that the protection of civilians must remain a priority under all circumstances and urged all parties involved to avoid actions that could further endanger civilian lives and infrastructure.
