KABUL: A new survey by the Pew Research Center shows that 13 percent of Americans aged 18 to 29, roughly one in eight young adults, hold a favorable view of Hamas.
According to the survey, 11 percent of respondents aged 30 to 49 and 6 percent of those aged 50 to 64 also expressed positive views of Hamas.
The findings also show differences along political lines, with 13 percent of Democrats and 6 percent of Republicans reporting favorable views of Hamas and among younger respondents aged 18 to 29, favorable views of Hamas were higher among Democrats than among Republicans in the same age group.
The survey comes amid ongoing debate in the United States over the Israel–Palestinian conflict, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and differing public views on Hamas, Israel, and regional politics.
This comes at a time when Hamas is the only movement in Palestine that is fighting fiercely against Israeli oppression of the residents of Gaza.
