KABUL: A general strike has been declared in Mastung District of Pakistan’s Balochistan Province following reports that the Pakistan Air Force carried out airstrikes on several religious seminaries in the Khad Kocha area.
According to The Balochistan Post, copies of the Quran and other religious books were burned during the reported strikes, triggering widespread anger among local residents.
Reports said residents responded by observing a general strike, with shops, markets, and commercial centers across Mastung remaining closed in protest.
The Pakistani military has not yet commented on the reports. The allegations come amid longstanding accusations by Baloch groups that Pakistani security forces have carried out operations in the province under various pretexts.
