Turkey asks Interpol to arrest Netanyahu over Gaza-related case

KABUL: Turkey’s Justice Minister Akın Gürlek says Ankara has submitted a request to Interpol seeking the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Gürlek said the request was made as part of Turkey’s ongoing judicial case concerning the Israeli forces’ alleged attack on activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was traveling toward Gaza with humanitarian aid, and the subsequent detention of activists.

Turkey’s Justice Ministry has reportedly issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and another Israeli official in connection with the case. The two have been accused of serious crimes, including genocide, crimes against humanity and torture.

Gürlek said Turkey intends to pursue all available legal avenues to hold those responsible for alleged crimes related to Gaza accountable.
