KABUL: Afghan officials have emphasized the need to provide greater facilities for cargo flights at Kabul International Airport and address existing challenges facing cargo services.
The remarks were made during a meeting focused on supporting and expanding cargo flight operations at the airport.
Ghulam Jailani Wafa, an operational and technical adviser at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, told Omid Radio that international cargo transportation to Afghanistan would be launched through joint cooperation between the government and private investors.
Wafa said officials are working to resolve existing problems in the cargo sector and provide the necessary facilities for its operations.
Officials believe that expanding cargo services could have a positive impact on Afghanistan’s economy, facilitate trade and strengthen the country’s links with international markets.
