Managi Hydropower Dam in Kunar to be rehabilitated at cost of 83 million Afghanis

KABUL: The Procurement Commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Islamic Emirate’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has approved a project to rehabilitate the Managi Hydropower Dam in Kunar province.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, the rehabilitation project will cost around 83 million Afghanis, and with the completion of the project, nearly 4,000 families will have access to electricity generated by the dam.

The office said the rehabilitated dam will have a generation capacity of 2.1 megawatts, with the project expected to be completed within 14 months.
