KABUL: Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi left Tehran on Sunday evening for New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, Iranian state media reported.
According to the reports, Araghchi is expected to participate in the General Assembly and hold meetings with a number of foreign officials and counterparts on the sidelines of the session.
Before traveling to New York, Araghchi is due to make a brief stop in Doha to consult on the latest regional developments.
The trip comes amid continued diplomatic efforts surrounding the conflict between Iran and the United States.
Qatar has been involved in efforts to facilitate dialogue between the two sides.
