KABUL: President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, late on Monday, made an official visit to Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, after 13 years.
During his trip to Iraq, he met with President Abdul Rashid and Mohammad Shiyah Al-Sudani, Prime Minister of that country.
According to the reports, during his visit, the Turkish President signed 26 Memorandum of Understanding in various sectors with Iraqi officials.
The cooperation agreements cover areas such as water, security cooperation, military training, energy, human resources, healthcare services, support for investments, agricultural cooperation, tourism, and preservation of antiquities.
Turkish president in a press conference with the Iraqi Prime Minister said that both countries would jointly combat separatist Kurdish groups.
He welcomed the ban on Kurdish separatist parties in Iraq as a military outlaw.
It’s mentionable that this is the first trip of Turkish high-ranking officials to Baghdad since the year 1390 AH (solar calendar).
