KABUL: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States and Israel of seeking to create and deepen internal divisions in Iran after failing to defeat the country through military force.
Speaking at a meeting with mayors of major cities and provincial capitals, Pezeshkian said that after the failure of military action to force Iranians to surrender, Iran’s opponents had shifted their strategy toward creating and expanding internal divisions.
He said the current pressure on Iran is aimed at increasing disagreements and tensions within the country.
Pezeshkian stressed that what he described as efforts to create internal divisions had become a central part of the strategy being pursued against Iran.
