KABUL: The Nangarhar Valley Agricultural Company plans to produce pickled olives from 16 tonnes of green olives at its olive processing factory this year.
Company officials said olive harvesting is underway at the second, third and fourth farms of the canal project and the harvested olives will be transported to the factory for processing into pickles.
According to the officials, the finished products will be supplied to domestic markets at affordable prices while maintaining good quality.
The production process comes as Nangarhar is considered one of Afghanistan’s key agricultural regions and a major centre for olive production.
