Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warn ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz

KABUL: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that it will take decisive action against vessels that switch off their navigation systems while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported on Sunday night, that the IRGC would classify ships that disable their navigation systems in the strait as “hostile.”

The warning comes amid reports of increased attacks by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on vessels passing through the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz in recent days.

Iran considers the southern route through the strait illegal and insists that ships must use the northern route, which it controls, according to the report.
