Houthis claim widespread attacks on Saudi Arabia; coalition says two missiles intercepted

KABUL: Yemen’s Houthis claimed on Saturday that they carried out widespread attacks targeting oil facilities, air bases and international airports in Saudi Arabia, while the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted two ballistic missiles.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the attacks targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, an Aramco facility in Yanbu, the Rabigh oil refinery and the East-West oil pipeline.

He added that King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Najran Airport and a military base in Khamis Mushait were also targeted.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted two ballistic missiles heading toward Yanbu and Taif, adding that debris from the interceptions fell in Makkah, Medina, Jeddah and Rabigh.

The Houthis rejected claims that they had targeted Makkah and Medina, saying their attacks were directed only at oil and military facilities.
