KABUL: Massoud Pezeshkian, one of the two candidates in the second round of Iran’s presidential election, has been elected as the president of Iran after winning this round, Ministry of Interior of that country said in a statement today.
According to reports, Massoud Pezeshkian secured over 16.3 million votes in the second round of the election, enabling him to emerge victorious.
Meanwhile, Saeed Jalili, the other presidential candidate, received more than 13 million votes.
Massoud Pezeshkian is a prominent political figure in Iran who has experience serving as a minister in the health and education sectors of the Iranian government.
