KABUL: The US Department of Defense has said that it is deploying more troops and warships in the Middle East to defend Israel against possible Iranian attacks.
Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said that this action is taken to defend Israel against possible Iranian attacks and to protect American forces.
“The US Secretary of Defense has ordered the deployment of defensive ballistic missiles and warships in the Middle East,” Singh said.
She further added that the decision to transfer and deploy military equipment was made before the talks between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night.
The US President said in a telephone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu last Thursday that the US protects its allies.
