KABUL: The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyar Saidov met with the Islamic Emirate’s ambassador based on Tashkent, Mawlavi Abdul Ghafar Bahr, according to a statement from that country’s foriegn ministry on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the meeting was held to officially welcome the Islamic Emirate’s ambassador to Uzbekistan as well as to discuss important bilateral, regional, and global issues.
In the meeting, Saidov also emphasized that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan share a common history and interests, which serve as a foundation for developing cooperation in various sectors.
It is noteworthy that Mawlavi Abdul Ghafar Bahr was recently appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate as Afghanistan’s ambassador in Tashkent.
