KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it has summoned Pakistan’s acting ambassador in Kabul and lodged a strong protest over what it described as the entry of armed elements from across the Durand Line toward Nuristan.
In a statement, the ministry said that on the 13th of Rabi al-Thani, a group of ISIS (Kharijitis) members and other armed individuals attempted, with the direct assistance and guidance of Pakistani military personnel, to cross the Durand Line toward Kamdesh district of Nuristan province and carry out what it described as destabilizing activities, but Afghan security forces prevented them from doing so, the ministry said.
“Pakistan is providing the conditions in areas under its control for the recruitment, organization, training and equipping of armed elements, and then directing them to cross the Durand Line into Afghanistan,” the ministry said.
It described Pakistan’s actions as a clear violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and warned that Pakistan would bear full responsibility for the consequences of continuing such actions.
