Turkey and Qatar committed to strengthening stability in Afghanistan

KABUL: The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Friday that Doha and Ankara are committed to enhancing stability in Afghanistan.

According to the statement, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, during his visit to Turkey, in a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed Afghanistan.

The statement said that in the meeting, the two sides expressed a desire to continue coordinated engagement with Afghanistan.

The continuation of humanitarian aid and sustainable development in Afghanistan were also among the other issues discussed during the meeting between the two leaders.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani traveled to Turkey for an official visit late last week, where he and President Erdoğan also addressed the situation in Afghanistan, conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, and their impacts on Yemen.
