KABUL: Leading a delegation CEO of the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, left the country for Turkmenistan to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations, DABS said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, during his trip, Dr. Omar met with Dovri Elyasov, the head of the Turkmenistan Electricity Company, and Murad Artikov, the head of the TAP project (Transfer of electricity line from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan), where they discussed energy projects, including the TAP project.
Dr. Omar emphasized the brotherly relationship between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and called for the expansion of bilateral relations.
Furthermore, it is expected that the CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Company will extend the contract for importing electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan for another year during this visit.
Turkmenistan is one of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries that, in addition to political, economic, and trade relations, supplies electricity to the western provinces of Afghanistan, including Herat, through a 220 KV line.
