KABUL: Following the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s order to impose a 25% tax on Canadian goods, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has stated that Canada did not seek such tariffs but is prepared to resist them.
Trudeau emphasized that he would discuss the imposed tax with the Canadians today.
He also mentioned his discussions with members of the Canadian Cabinet and the President of Mexico.
Donald Trump issued an order that imposes a 25% tax on imported goods from Canada and a 10% tax on energy imports from the country.
Canadian officials have indicated that this order will take effect from February 4.
