KABUL: Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, wrote on his X page this morning that he participated in an iftar (fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims in Ramadan) with thousands of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
“As part of my Ramadan solidarity visit to Bangladesh, I was honoured to break the fast and share an Iftar with close to 100,000 Rohingya refugees.
May this Ramadan bring peace, blessings, and renewed hope to all,” he wrote on his X page.
The Secretary-General began a solidarity tour in several Islamic countries during the holy month of Ramadan.
Two days ago, the President of Germany also attended an iftar ceremony with Muslims in his country, wishing for interfaith solidarity.
