KABUL: The England national football team, inspired by Jude Bellingham’s standout performance, defeated Norway 2–1 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup and advanced to the semifinals after extra time.
Norway scored first in the 36th minute through Andreas Shieldrop, but Bellingham equalized for England in the closing moments of the first half.
Bellingham then sealed the win by scoring England’s second goal in the 93rd minute of extra time.
Despite a decent showing, Norway couldn’t hold on to its advantage and was eliminated from the tournament after losing to England.
Erling Haaland also failed to score in the match.
With the victory, England reached the semifinals, and Bellingham, by continuing to shine, has remained one of the key players for the “Three Lions” on their way toward the final.
