KABUL: The Badakhshan provincial officials told Radio Omid that Juma Khan Fateh, a former deputy governor of Zabul province, has surrendered to Islamic Emirate forces.
According to the sources, armed men affiliated with Fateh also surrendered to Afghan forces the previous day.
The surrender comes after Islamic Emirate forces launched operations in Badakhshan over the past several days to arrest Fateh.
