Smuggling of eleven historical and artistic artifacts prevented in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: Security personnel of Kandahar prevented the smuggling of eleven historical and artistic artifacts, Kandahar Press Media and Information Center said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, these artifacts were intended to be smuggled out of the country by foreign tourists and confiscated at Ahmad Shah Baba Airport in Kandahar.

Among the items seized were ancient coins.

It is planned that the recovered historical and artistic items will be registered, cataloged, and cleaned before being transferred to the National Museum for preservation and keeping said the statement.

It is noteworthy that both civilian and military personnel of the Islamic Emirate are working tirelessly to prevent the smuggling of goods and objects.
