Trump says Iran doesn’t need deal to end war, signals possible exit in weeks

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran does not need to reach an agreement with Washington to end the ongoing conflict, suggesting the war could conclude without a formal deal.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday night, Trump said the United States could halt its military operations against Iran within the next two to three weeks.
“We will be leaving soon,” he said. “That could happen in two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three weeks.”
The remarks is a shift in tone after previous warnings from Trump that Iran would face intensified attacks if it refused to agree to U.S. terms.
Following his comments, the White House announced that Trump would deliver a televised address later Tuesday night outlining his position on the conflict.
The latest statements highlight uncertainty around Washington’s strategy as fighting between the United States and Iran continues.
