KABUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey does not accept ongoing attacks on Iran or the expansion of violence in the region during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to a statement from Erdogan’s office, he said Ankara opposes strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran, while also not supporting any potential retaliatory actions by Tehran against neighboring countries.
Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is maintaining relations with all sides based on peace and stability in an effort to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
Turkey has repeatedly warned that continued attacks on Iran could trigger wider and more deadly confrontations across the region.
