Afghani currency increase 10.77% against U.S. dollar, Central Bank says

KABUL: The Afghani currency increased 10.77% against the U.S. dollar during the solar year (1404), compared to previous years, according to officials from Da Afghanistan Bank.
Noor Ahmad Agha, governor of the central bank, made the remarks during a High Council meeting, the DAB press office said in a statement on Sunday.
He said the afghani remained relatively stable compared to regional currencies and that banking sector assets increased by 4.69% over the same period.
He attributed the gains to targeted monetary policies, improved financial stability, strengthening of the banking sector, and increased public confidence.
The central bank also highlighted ongoing efforts to implement effective monetary policies, expand Islamic banking, promote electronic banking services, and improve public access to financial services.
Authorities say efforts to maintain and further strengthen the Afghani against foreign currencies, particularly the U.S. dollar are continuing.
