KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul and formally conveyed its strong and unequivocal protest over the alleged violation of Afghan airspace and Pakistani airstrikes targeting civilian areas in Kunar, Paktia, and Paktika provinces.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the overnight attacks carried out by Pakistan’s military resulted in the martyrdom of 36 civilians, including women and children, while another 163 people were injured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the strikes as a clear violation of international norms, humanitarian law, and the national sovereignty of states.
The statement further asserted that this was not the first time Pakistan had blamed Afghanistan for its own security and political failures. It argued that, for several years, Islamabad had pursued an unsuccessful policy of shifting its internal challenges onto Afghanistan through what it described as unfounded allegations and military aggression.
The ministry emphasized that such actions not only fail to contribute to resolving existing disputes but also seriously undermine mutual trust, good-neighborly relations, and regional peace and stability.
