Qalibaf: United States must accept new regional realities after the war

KABUL: Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, has said that the United States must accept the new realities that have emerged following the recent conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, and adjust its policies to the changing regional landscape.
Qalibaf made the remarks on Friday during a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uzbekistan, stating that developments following the war have compelled Washington to acknowledge the existing realities on the ground.
He added, “The situation has improved compared to the past, and under these conditions, trade relations can expand further. We also hope that the conditions will be created for the lifting of sanctions.”
Referring to the situation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian parliament speaker said that “through the joint management of Iran and Oman” in the strategic waterway, along with a reduction in what he described as “destructive actions by the United States,” greater opportunities could emerge for the expansion of transit and transportation cooperation.
Qalibaf’s remarks come as regional tensions continue to shape political and security developments across the Middle East following the recent conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
