KABUL: A number of Afghan traders have told Omid Radio that even if trade routes with Pakistan are reopened, they are unlikely to resume commercial activities with the neighboring country.
According to Omid Radio, several traders said they have already established reliable alternative trade routes with other countries, reducing their dependence on Pakistan.
A trader, Abdul Ghafar Ahmadzai, said trade with other countries is more affordable, offers higher-quality goods, and provides greater convenience than trade through Pakistan.
Meanwhile, several Pakistani traders have expressed concern over the continued closure of the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings for trade, adding that hundreds of factories in Pakistan have been forced to suspend operations, with businesses reportedly suffering millions of dollars in losses each day.
