JALALABAD: As part of ongoing efforts to provide facilities for returning migrants, work is underway to connect the Omari refugee camp to the power grid, the Nangarhar governor’s press office said in a statement today.
According to the statement, Mawlavi Mohammad Jan Enqelabi, head of the electricity department in Nangarhar, assured the Omari refugee camp services committee that the camp would be connected to a sustainable power grid in the coming days.
Enqelabi added that to provide facilities for the Afghan returnees, the technical teams have commenced their operations with a structured plan to connect all sections of the camp to the power.
Notably, two days ago, the Ministry of Water and Energy announced the establishment of a cold water supply system for returning families in the Omari camp.
