KABUL: The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia has announced that an Afghan citizen has been executed for drug trafficking in the country.
According to the Arab News Agency, on Monday night, the Afghan citizen was named Bad Shah Qul Sulaimani and was convicted of transporting heroin into the country.
The execution was carried out near Mecca, following royal approval.
“The individual attempted to smuggle heroin into the country by swallowing packets of the drug,” said the agency.
According to the source, the execution reflects the serious fight against drugs in the country and aims to protect its citizens from such threats.
Saudi Arabia is known for having stringent laws regarding drugs and traffickers.
