KABUL: Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, said in a statement on his X account on Monday that Paris advocates for a two-state solution between Palestine and Israel, urging countries around the world to recognize both states.
The French President mentioned that he had a telephone conversation with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, during which he emphasized the need to establish a credible government through reforms within the Palestinian Authority.
He also noted that disarming the Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas and reforming the Palestinian Authority could pave the way for the establishment of a legitimate government at an upcoming international conference concerning the future of the country.
Five days ago, the President of France stated that Paris intends to recognize Palestine as an independent state.
An international conference on peace in Palestine is scheduled to be held in June 2025.
